Please note that surrender intakes may take a bit longer to coordinate during this time. We will make contact within 24 hours when you submit a surrender form and photos, however it may take us 2 weeks to actually intake your pug(s).
We took in 17 pugs during the last week of December. Many of our foster homes are full and we need to wait until some volunteers return from their holiday travels for more foster spots to become available.
We are committed to helping every pug in need, and our team is working very hard, so please give us as much notice as possible when completing the surrender form.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
2024 was our 21st year of operation. The support of our donors, fosters, volunteers, and adopters made it possible to rescue 28% more pugs in 2024 than in 2023.
Some major surgeries included: orthopedic, pyometra, mass removal, bladder stones, cataracts, entropion, eye enucleation and more...
All adopted pugs will have received full veterinary care: vaccines, spay/neuter, heartworm/urine/fecal tests, bloodwork, treatment for known illnesses/injuries, dental cleaning/extractions
Every number represents a life saved, a tail wagged, and a story rewritten. You’ve helped us transform challenges into victories and given so many pugs a brighter future.
As we celebrate our 22nd year of rescue in 2025, we’re excited to continue our mission of love, hope, and rescue. Here’s to another year of making a difference, one pug at a time.
Together, we can make an even bigger impact in the lives of pugs in need. Please consider a donation - no matter the size - to ensure we can continue this lifesaving work in 2025.
Would you like to open your home and heart and adopt a pug? The pugs we rescue may vary from young and healthy to a senior with ongoing health issues but they all have one thing in common: They are looking for loving, stable homes to call their own.
We rely on the support of caring and committed foster homes to help pugs in need. All Pug Rescue of Florida & Georgia pugs stay with foster families until they find their forever home. We provide the medical care - you provide the shelter and love.
If you own or know of a pug that needs rescue in Florida or Georgia, please complete the online Surrender Form, submit pics and we will have a volunteer in your area contact you to discuss your situation and help the pug.

We spend over $200,000 annually on medical care to help pugs and pug mixes. We rely entirely on donations to help pay for the substantial costs associated with medical bills, food and supplies and for retrieving dogs from shelters and unsafe situations.
