Last year we rescued more than 170 pug/pug mixes but we need your help so we can continue this lifesaving animal rescue work. Pug Rescue of Florida & Georgia ensures every pug/mix gets all the medical care they need; the rescue's medical expenses total about $175,000 per year.
Thank you
This year we celebrate our first 20 years as a rescue! There is so much involved in the behind-the-scenes operation of the rescue and we have an incredible group of dedicated volunteers who make our day-to-day operation possible. They are the backbone of Pug Rescue of Florida & Georgia and we appreciate everything they do!
In a perfect world there would be no need for Pug Rescue of Florida and Georgia. In that world all pugs would be healthy, happy and well-cared for in a forever home. Unfortunately, that perfect world is not a reality. As a rescue we are here for all pugs – both the healthy ones – as well as the neglected, senior, and special-needs pugs / mixes that have been surrendered, abandoned or allowed to stray by their owners.
After the initial rescue of a pug or pug mix – whether through owner surrender, or by way of animal shelters, etc., our foster program is a critical first stop after transport for most of the dogs that come into rescue. Foster homes are the BRIDGE between the initial rescue and the placement of precious pugs into their forever homes – the bridge between two hearts.
In January, we lost a beloved volunteer and foster Mom, Vicki Cox, when she crossed the rainbow bridge. We know there was an incredible grumble of pugs waiting to welcome her on the other side! If you were lucky enough to know Vicki – you were blessed to know her upbeat personality, her humor and her unconditional love of pugs!
Vicki was an extraordinary foster mom for countless pugs and pug mixes. Her door was always open for pug arrivals – and she was a dependable and sturdy bridge / caregiver until their departure to a loving forever home. She was a link that brought these two sides – two hearts – together.
We remember and honor Vicki’s contributions to rescue by naming our foster program in her memory. Vicki’s Bridge – bringing two hearts together. Love … Foster … Repeat
Is there a foster in your future? Applications are available online. We supply the medical care … you supply the love!
Would you like to open your home and heart and adopt a pug? The pugs and pug mixes we rescue may vary from young and healthy to a senior with ongoing health issues but they all have one thing in common: They are looking for loving, stable homes to call their own.
We rely on the support of caring and committed foster homes to help the pugs in need. All Pug Rescue of Florida & Georgia pugs stay with foster families until they find their forever home. We provide the medical care - you provide the shelter and love.
