Senior Pugs Are Getting A Second Chance!

We are thrilled to announce that we are a recipient of a 2026 Pathways Home Grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization. This funding will help us provide essential care for senior pugs in our rescue, including medical and dental care, and adoption readiness support that removes barriers to finding loving homes.

The Pathways Home Grant is part of Grey Muzzle's national effort to identify the most effective ways to help senior dogs move from shelters and rescues into adoptive, foster, or hospice homes. By participating in this program, we're helping identify proven solutions that can improve the lives of senior dogs nationwide.

MEET SMOOCH

Smooch is a sweet senior puggle girl who is happiest when she knows her people are nearby. She is easygoing, affectionate and generally low maintenance. Smooch came into rescue when her favorite person moved into an assisted living facility and could no longer care for her. Although her world has included some major changes, we are happy to help her find a home where she can enjoy her retirement years.

Smooch is an expert napper with occasional bursts of playful energy. She is most comfortable when her people are home and likes to keep track of where everyone is. She appears to be completely deaf. She does not respond to sounds, but she is attentive and responsive when she can see you. Smooch is also completely potty trained, and does well on walks and care rides.

Thanks to our Grey Muzzle grant, she will receive a much needed dental surgery after her skin, ears and UTI are cleared, If you would like to give Smooch a happy retirement home, learn more HERE.

MEET TUPUG

Tupug, a 14 year old pug, is ready for the next chapter of his senior years: a Forever Care home through our Senior Pug Pals program. He is looking for a special person who understands that senior pugs sometimes come with a few quirks, a few medical needs, and some very definite opinions about how they would like their world to operate.

Tupug knows what he likes — and, perhaps even more importantly, what he doesn't. Give him the right environment, respect his boundaries, and he can settle into a comfortable routine with his person.

Thanks to our Grey Muzzle grant, Tupug received a much needed dental with 5 extractions, and he also had a mass removed from his abdomen. If you would like to give Tupug a happy retirement home, learn more HERE.

MEET MILLIE

Millie is a 12½-year-old sweetheart who is ready to spend her golden years as someone's constant companion.

Millie is happiest napping, taking short strolls in a fenced yard, riding in the car, and making sure mealtimes happen right on schedule. She gets along well with other dogs and cats and thrives in a home where someone is around most of the day.

Like many senior pugs, Millie has a few age-related medical needs, including dry eye and breathing limitations. Thanks to our Grey Muzzle grant Millie received a much needed dental with some extractions. She also had several small lumps removed which were confirmed to be Mast Cell (all known masses were successfully removed and she has started on OTC anti-histamine meds). Millie is looking for a loving retirement home where she can enjoy lazy days surrounded by comfy beds and sunshine. You can read more about Millie HERE
