It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear friend, supporter, and long time volunteer, Linda Bonsignore Hipps.
Linda’s journey with our rescue began in 2011 and over the years, she spent countless hours removing dogs from desperate situations, getting them the medical care they needed, arranging transports across Florida, and helping them find their forever homes. Linda was never afraid of the hard work and she gave her time, energy, and love selflessly, always putting the dogs first.
If you ever attended one of our adoption or fundraising events, chances are you saw Linda working the crowd at her Pug Kissing Booth—a fan favorite lovingly built by her husband, Steve. She had an unmatched ability to draw people in, raise awareness, and bring in support for the pugs who needed it most.
During her time in rescue, Linda personally touched the lives of more than 200 dogs. Many she helped move into foster care or adoption, and a few lucky ones became her “foster failures,” living their best lives with her and Steve.
To honor Linda’s life and love for rescue, her family has requested that donations be made to PRFG to continue saving the pugs she loved so dearly.
We are humbled to be chosen as the organization to receive donations in her memory, and deeply grateful for the chance to honor her by continuing the lifesaving work she dedicated herself to so passionately.
Join us on Saturday, November 15 at Fire Maker Brewing in Atlanta, GA for our largest FUNdraising event in Georgia. We're celebrating 22 years of rescuing pugs and raising critical funds to support their medical care.

Every dollar helps us protect the hearts of the pugs who depend on us.
Every pug that comes into our care receives a full medical evaluation—including heartworm testing and prevention. Sadly, many arrive already heartworm positive, requiring long, expensive treatment to save their lives. Others come to us unprotected, and we make sure they never have to face that risk again.
That’s why we created HEART for Pugs—a dedicated fund to cover the cost of testing, prevention, and treatment for every rescue pug.
Would you like to open your home and heart to a pug? The pugs we rescue vary from young and healthy to senior with ongoing health issues, but they all have one thing in common: They are looking for loving, stable homes to call their own.
We rely on the support of caring and committed foster homes to help pugs in need. All of our pugs stay with foster families until they find their forever home. We provide the medical care - you provide the shelter and love.
Your support helps us save pugs in need. In 2024, we spent nearly $300,000 on medical care alone. We rely entirely on donations, and 100% goes directly to medical bills, food, supplies, and rescuing dogs from unsafe situations.
If you own or know of a pug that needs rescue in Florida or Georgia, please complete the online Surrender Form and submit a photo. One of our volunteers will contact you to discuss the situation and help the pug.
We’re thrilled to announce that we are one of 119 grant recipients awarded funding from the $1.57 million distributed by The Grey Muzzle Organization to support lifesaving efforts for senior dogs.
This critical funding supports animal shelters and rescues across the USA, France, and Nepal in developing senior-focused programs—including medical and dental care, surrender prevention, hospice care, and adoption incentives. This Grey Muzzle Grant will allow us to help senior pugs in our care.
A huge thank you to Grey Muzzle and their generous supporters for making this possible and for believing in a time where every senior dog finds safety, love, and a soft landing.
